Equip enables Christians to grow as disciples and prepare to serve the church by taking seminary level courses for college or seminary credit or to pursue certification.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

MATTHEW 28:19–20, ESV

What is a disciple?

A disciple is someone who follows the teaching of another. While many people call themselves Christians, Jesus always calls disciples to follow Him, walk in obedience to His teaching,  submit their lives to Him as their Lord,  delight in His presence, and lead others to follow with them.

THE HUNDRED YEAR PLAN

When Immanuel Church was planted in 2004, we asked God that in 2104:
  • Immanuel would still be a gospel light faithful to the unchanging Word of God and the Good News of a Savior who redeems sinners.
  • Immanuel would have started a church planting movement in Rensselaer, Albany, and Columbia counties.
  • Immanuel would have played a part in God's plan for a movement of God in our region.
How do work to this end? We make disciples who make disciples and grow into the leaders of tomorrow and the next generation.

Equip

The Equip Network empowers churches to offer the highest quality of theological training through mentorships and practicums. We wed the seminary experience with real-life ministry opportunities to provide students with the most integrative ministry training available.

Through the Equip Network partnership with Southeastern Seminary, a student is able to earn a Masters of Arts in Christian Studies (39 credit hours) and gain hands-on ministry experience without leaving the Capital District.
